A 64-year-old man and his wife were both charged in Clarkston 52-2 District Court
with sexual assault of a 16-year-old girl who told investigators
she was paid money to test and rate sexual devices for the man.
William Arthur Keely is charged with three counts of child sexual abuse activity,
a felony punishable by up to 20 years in prison; fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct (touching).
Margaret Keely, 53, a special education teacher at Oxford High School,
is charged with failure to report child abuse, a misdemeanor punishable by up to 93 days in jail.
Oakland County Sheriff's detectives said the Oxford High student said
she was befriended by Margaret Keely two years ago, when she was a 14-year-old freshman
at the school, and introduced to William Keely and offered work doing odd jobs
around their house. The girl said she worked for the couple for two years.
She said Keely invited her over to the home June 26,
and while they watched a movie together, he sexually assaulted her.
She told investigators she fled and drove home. She confided to a friend about what happened,
and the friend reported the incident.
Investigators said the girl has also said that Keely paid her money to test sexual devices
and submit to a survey of her experience.
